Welcome
Welcome to United Church of Christ, Congregational of Medina!
No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here!
Located on the northeast corner of the Town Square, Medina UCC has been ministering to the Medina community since the founding of the city nearly 200 years ago. Rooted in the historic faith and yet always seeking to connect to the world around us, we have sought to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ faithfully, boldly and creatively to each new generation.
Persons from many diverse faith traditions have found a spiritual home in our congregation. They enjoy a caring and supportive family of faith as together we discover and grow in the good news of God in Jesus Christ. We invite all persons to join with us in this journey of joy and grace in the power of God’s Spirit. We offer diverse worship experiences, challenging Bible Studies, growing ministries for children and youth, and meaningful opportunities to serve in our community and world.
Medina UCC has its roots in the Congregational churches, the church of the Pilgrims and Puritans, and belongs to the United Church of Christ. With others in the UCC, we reach out into God’s world seeking justice and peace for all God’s children.
We recognize and celebrate the gifts and service of all persons, and encourage all to use these gifts in proclaiming God’s love by the things we say and the things we do. The people here at Medina UCC make the decisions that govern our church as well as preach, teach, sing, care, plan and serve in numerous ways.
Come, discover the love of Christ amidst a joyful community of faith!
Blessings,
Pastor Neal
With joy and gladness, I welcome you to the United Church of Christ, Congregational in Medina. Maybe you know us as the brick church on the square. Maybe you’ve been looking at church websites all day, and this is the 37th welcome statement you’ve read. Maybe you’re looking for a church home, or a sign, or a kind word. Maybe you’re just not sure.
Thankfully, being sure is not what matters. What matters is showing up — first clicking on a welcome statement, then joining us for worship some Sunday, then coming back.
If you try this, you’ll discover that we’re a community of believers who worship God every way we can – from following a traditional liturgy to exploring contemporary, creative expressions of praise, from sharing a meal with those who are in need, to engaging in service projects around the United States and the world. You’ll discover that we’re a church of the people, led by the Spirit.
Here, being the church is a venture of courageous collaboration, as we’re not afraid to work together even though we are old and young, liberal and conservative, steeped in church our whole lives through and brand new. If you show up, you’ll discover that the church takes all of us. We look forward to welcoming you!
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Mariah
