I can’t believe that it is time to start thinking about Vacation Bible School already!

We are busy looking at things and planning the week. The theme this year is Son Rise National Park. Registration will begin soon and I am starting the process of looking for volunteers to help. If you are interested in helping with VBS, please see Stacie Yates or fill out an ONLINE VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION FORM.  There are so many ways in which you can help.

CELEBRATION OF CREATION!

Celebration of Creation

Come join us on Sunday April 22^nd at 3:30 for our first Celebration of Creation! This is a family event celebrating Earth Day and our call as Christians to honor God’s creation by caring for the earth. From 3:30 until 4:30, we will share earth-friendly games and crafts. Then at 4:30 our Elementary Youth will lead a Blessing of the Animals. Be sure to bring your parakeets and giraffes, your collies and your three-toed sloths! Families are welcome to bring photographs of pets who are deceased or who are not able to attend to the service. A special offering will be collected to benefit Heifer International.

Youth Sunday March 11th, 2012

YOUTH SUNDAY: WORSHIP AND AUCTION-RAFFLE CELEBRATION

   Join us in celebrating Youth Sunday on March 11^th. This service is one of the year’s most memorable worship experiences, as the youth and children of the church lead us in giving glory to God.

 March 11^th we will have one, unified service at 10:30 am.

Calling One and All! We’re Seeking Youth Group Sponsors of All Ages!

Join us in building a new bridge between our teenagers and our whole congregation.

When you get to know our high school youth, you’ll see how you can make a difference in their lives, and you’ll see how they give blessing to yours. We encourage you to give prayerful consideration to supporting our youth through sponsorship. The options are many! See the list below for ways to be a sponsor. Please fill out the form below or print it out and return it to Pastor Mariah by October 30,2011.

Youth Group sponsors will be introduced at an Afternoon Tea on November 13th.

Youth Group Rake n Run

On Sunday November 6^th the youth groups will launch our annual Rake n Run! We will meet at the church at 1:30 and split into teams to travel around Medina raking the yards of church members who are in need of this extra assistance. Afterwards, we’ll meet back at the church for cookies and hot chocolate. We will be finished by 5:00. We are in need of parent drivers! If you can drive, please contact Mariah at youthpastor@uccmedina.org or (330) 725-4559 ex. 33.

• Please bring a rake to use as well as any tarps or leaf blowers you can loan us (labeled with your name).
• Please bring a plate of cookies or dessert to share.
• All youth participants need a signed permission slip and emergency medical form. Forms are available electronically from Mariah or on the sign-up tables at the church.

Car Wash This Saturday!

Are you looking for a way to get your car sparkling clean while at the same time supporting the High School Youth mission trip to Philadelphia?

If your answer is “yes” then you don’t want to miss the Youth Car Wash on Saturday June 25!

It will be held in the parking lot of the church from 10 am until 2 pm.

Please plan to come and spread the word to neighbors and friends.

Thanks for Your Help!

From the floor to the rafters, from the waters of the deep to the rainbow in the skies, our joyful gratitude resounds! In the past few weeks, the youth groups have launched several church-wide events, and we extend a heartfelt thanks to the many people who made these experiences possible and joyful.

• To begin with, thank you to those who helped coordinate Winter Fair, to all who contributed to the lavish array of desserts, and to all who bid and purchased desserts and services. This event raised $1035 for our youth mission trips. Thank you for your generous support!

• We truly thank the Quilters for donating the lovely Dresden Plate quilt for our raffle, and thank you to all who purchased raffle tickets. The quilt raffle raised $461 for our youth mission trips. Congratulations to Bob Fenn who won the quilt!

• Our abundant thanks to the office staff and to the Discipleship and Education Leadership Team for providing the delicious lunch following the service. The Mission Leadership Team covered the cost of the food, and the free-will donations raised $340. Thank you for this time of festive fellowship!

• Thank you to all who participated in worship on Youth Sunday and all who stayed for lunch afterwards, proving once again that church takes all the people. Youth Sunday was an energizing celebration of worship and praise, and it happened by the grace of God and the loving collaboration of our congregation.  We thank you all!
