“Whoever welcomes a child,” said Jesus, “welcomes me.” (Matthew 18:5) At the United Church of Christ, Congregational, we believe in the importance of children and the joy and energy they bring to the church. From Sunday School to youth groups to confirmation, we strive to create spaces for children and youth to become loving servants of Christ. Young people also participate in worship by serving as acolytes, singing in choirs, participating in the Christmas pageant, and planning and performing their own service on youth Sunday. Finally, there are many opportunities for intergenerational friendships to form through confirmation mentoring and intergenerational mission trips.
