Syd Benson gave a report on the Circle of Caring and the 50 Year Luncheon Planning Committee.  The Luncheon will be held Saturday, September 29 at 11:30 a.m.  The committee has decided on a menu and has people ready to help.  Some Circle of Caring crafts are still available for delivery.

A brief summary of the April Congregational Council meeting was given.

Most of our meeting was a discussion of our church-sponsored Ice Cream Social during the Community Band Concert on Friday, June 22.  Medith Davis will be the organizer and the rest of our committee will help her recruit bakers and workers.  Kelly Charnley will work on publicity and fliers for the Messenger.  We expect lots of support from our church members.

Our next meeting will be a week early:  Wednesday, June 6 at 7:00 in the Library.  This will give us time to complete plans for the Ice Cream Social.

We are busy looking at things and planning the week. The theme this year is Son Rise National Park. Registration will begin soon and I am starting the process of looking for volunteers to help. CELEBRATION OF CREATION!

Come join us on Sunday April 22nd at 3:30 for our first Celebration of Creation! This is a family event celebrating Earth Day and our call as Christians to honor God’s creation by caring for the earth. From 3:30 until 4:30, we will share earth-friendly games and crafts. Then at 4:30 our Elementary Youth will lead a Blessing of the Animals. Be sure to bring your parakeets and giraffes, your collies and your three-toed sloths! Families are welcome to bring photographs of pets who are deceased or who are not able to attend to the service. A special offering will be collected to benefit Heifer International.
